As students pour back into Waco for a new semester, so do new, fun events and activities both on and off campus. If syllabus week is leaving you with little to do, here are some fresh, free events to add to your calendar.

Waco, like many other college towns, has an abundance of coffee shops for students to study in. While students often settle for convenience when it comes to their coffee, Dan Moroso, owner of recently opened Italian cafe “Azzurro,” urges them to venture out of the Baylor bubble to Bosque Blvd for a cup of coffee they won’t forget.

The space, formerly an axe house, is a complete manifestation of Corkill’s vision. From the beginning, Corkill knew he wanted a place he could call home to multiple types of art, from theater to music to ASL; he has now accomplished that in less than two months.

The H-E-B grocery store on 1102 Speight Ave., along with the H-E-B location on Valley Mills Drive and Dutton Avenue, closed its doors for good Thursday. It left customers from Baylor and the surrounding community to adjust their shopping plans in accordance with H-E-B’s newest installment in Waco: an H-E-B Plus The store off of I-35 and Valley Mills opened Friday. H-E-B Plus is located at 1821 South Valley Mills Dr in Waco.
