Baylor Student Foundation plays a key role in fundraising, scholarship initiatives and campus events. Commonly known as StuFu, the organization provides students with leadership opportunities and a chance to engage with the university community. Members describe their experience as an opportunity to develop skills, build connections and contribute to Baylor’s mission.

For several years, Baylor’s diversity initiatives have primarily been overseen by the Campus Diversity Committee, which has been tasked with enhancing and promoting diversity. However, since the committee was first created, the university’s diversity initiatives are now overseen by departments across campus.
The three finalists for the 2024 award, Dr. Jay Banner, Dr. Claire Katz and Dr. Kelly Lambert, were selected from a pool of nominees by a committee of Baylor faculty. The committee evaluates the strategies the faculty use to build relationships with their students to help them connect to the content they are studying.
“One of the biggest challenges is making sure you can coordinate where the 200 members of the group you’re helping are getting to the places they need to go and being present for all the rehearsals,” Caughlin said.
