Commissioner Adam Silver announced between the 15th and 16th picks in Thursday night’s draft that the NBA would let Isaiah Austin fulfill the dream of every young player, making him a ceremonial first round pick.

When the stakes were highest, Baylor softball delivered. They were underdogs heading into the series, but calmly stepped up to take both games from No. 4 Georgia to advance to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2011.

The Baylor Board of Regents voted today to establish the College of Health and Human Sciences. The meeting also included the election of new regents, the approval of new goals for Pro Futuris and presentations of appreciation by the Baylor Faculty Senate.

Only months after winning their first ever Big 12 Championship, Baylor was represented well in the 2014 NFL Draft. In all, five Baylor players were selected, pushing Baylor’s draft totals since 2011 to 14 players drafted, the most in the state of Texas over that span.

Tinder, the dating app that caught fire on college campuses all across America, has made its mark on Baylor. Whether someone is looking for a friendly date, a hookup or simply an ego boost, Tinder makes it easy to find the perfect match with a simple left or right, “yes” or “no” swipe of the thumb. App dating’s simplicity is its strength, although the simplicity of it could be viewed by many as superficiality.

There are a shocking number of stories and sagas behind the scenes of college sports that rarely ever get talked about, much less even known to others outside the lines. The focus hardly ever goes to players waiting their turn in college, struggling to feel affirmation for their hard work.
