The Baylor cross-country team opened the season this past Friday night, Aug. 31, at the Bear Twilight Invitational in Waco.

The women claimed a first-place victory, and the men earned second.

Baylor Information Technology Services is alerting students about potential identity thieves and the importance of keeping email account information confidential.

Jon Allen, of information security at Baylor ITS said Baylor has had about five compromised email accounts since Aug. 1, and 13 since July 1.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
