In 1933, Florence Price became the first Black female composer to have a symphony performed by a major American orchestra. Almost a century later, Dr. Michael Clark, a lecturer of piano at Baylor, is preparing to release his rendition entitled “Waltzes & Character Pieces of Florence Price.”
Baylor men’s tennis freshman Devin Badenhorst is the youngest player on the roster, joining the team at the start of the spring semester, but the 6-foot-7-inch athlete from Pretoria, South Africa, has made an early impact.
“While we do heed our sorority’s goals and ambitions when looking for new girls to join us, we do not look for the same type of person,” Newport News, Va., senior Courtney Hodge said. “We pride ourselves on diversity, and we all come from different backgrounds ourselves.”
Before the space at 1319 N 15th St. became Jubilee Theatre, it was an adult theater known as “The Capri” — an avid hotspot for drug dealers and prostitutes until it shut down due to a recession. Mission Waco obtained the deed to the space for free in 1994, and it immediately began raising money to restore the building and craft it into a space for community theater.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
