Navigating the world of credit can be overwhelming for college students, but Baylor is offering a way to make it easier.
Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey recently went viral for their Super Bowl “True Detective” parody ad where they were both calling for a larger investment into Texas film studios. However, like the first season of “True Detective,” things are a lot more complicated, as the money from these investments come with some tight strings attached.
While tabling still needs attention-grabbing methods to attract new people, there is no need to yell, scream or rope people into conversation to do so. No one should leave Fountain Mall feeling as if they were ambushed, bamboozled or forced to have a conversation. Instead, recruiting efforts should be focused on attracting students through quality conversation, eye-catching graphics and students genuinely wanting to join.
We all know gossip isn’t going away anytime soon. And that’s okay. When we wield the power of our words wisely, we can significantly help build our relationships and communities. Being intentional with what we say can help us protect and connect with our peers.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
