Rock climbing is one of the many recreational activities featured at the McLane Student Life Center, and the annual Bear Climb allows students from Baylor and surrounding schools to participate in friendly competition while exploring new courses.
In addition to the hubbub of Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14 marks Ash Wednesday — the beginning of the 40-day season of Lent. In recognition, Elliston Chapel and the Bobo Spiritual Life Center will be giving out ashes from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with complete services in Elliston Chapel at 8:30 a.m. and noon.
Between teaching four of five topics every semester and living with his students, Dr. Clay Butler keeps busy. The senior lecturer in English and faculty-in-residence for Martin Hall has been working at the university since 2001 and remains strong in Baylor spirit to this day.
The Bears cruised to their first double-digit win of conference play so far this season.

Though it is a fairly new phenomenon, there is a growing number of reverse transfer students throughout different universities.
Despite adverse weather conditions and sudden venue changes, the Baylor population and the Waco community came to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the dedication ceremony of the Baylor Community Garden.
The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce has received the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star this year after earning a grade of 98 in energy performance, according to a statement released by the chamber.
StoryCorps, a nonprofit organization dedicated to recording and preserving oral history, is visiting Waco this holiday season.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
