Isaiah Austin, the highest-rated recruit in Baylor men’s basketball history, led the Big 12 with 3.1 blocks per game in 2013-14. He also had such bad attitude issues that he was nearly kicked off the team for good.
Representing other cultures does not negate your own Christianity, the same way being a student at Baylor does not automatically make you a Baptist. As students, we represent Baylor as a Christian university as much as you, and we reflect God’s love by showing the same compassion and care to our fellow students.
Digital displays — from phones and TVs to theater projectors — fall short of showing the full spectrum of colors visible to the human eye. Two Baylor professors are responsible for innovating technology known as 6P Color, a multi-primary color system to solve this issue, playing a major role in reshaping how screens reproduce color, emotion and visual storytelling in the future.
In October 1950, the national fraternity Alpha Chi Omega conducted a campus-wide poll to determine the ugliest man on campus. Beyond the title of Mr. Ugly, the winner would receive bountiful gifts, including “the perfect weekend,” consisting of a lavish date, a luxurious sports car and a feature in the Baylor Homecoming Parade to promote the competition.

Five Baylor students and two Baylor-associated organizations received recognition for their volunteer work at the Mission Waco Mission World banquet Tuesday.
The students won Volunteer of the Year awards. Brooks Residential College and Zeta Zigga Zamma received special recognition.
The awards give the nonprofit a chance to recognize its volunteers, said Seth Dorrell, director of Mission World and volunteer director.
Another low-cost grocery store has arrived in Waco, and it’s not Walmart or H.E.B.
Aldi, a German discount grocery store, will be open for business Feb. 28 on the corner of Wooded Acres and Valley Mills drives.
According to their website, Aldi opened its first store in Germany in 1913 and came to the U.S. in 1976.
Christians crossed ethnic boundaries Thursday to explore how Waco churches serve immigrants in the community.
Only a few days after a bipartisan group of U.S. senators agreed on a way to overhaul the current immigration system, Calvary Baptist Church came together with 20 local churches during “God’s Heart toward Immigrants,” to challenge how immigrants were seen in the church.
Mission Waco volunteers will celebrate their past year of service to the Waco community on Tuesday.
The Mission Waco Banquet will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday in
Chisholm Hall of the Waco Convention Center.
Covid-19
“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
