TPUSA is coming to Baylor, and students have varying reactions. Some argue that Baylor is expanding free speech, while others argue that Baylor is making a clear political statement by inviting the organization onto campus.
The Department of History hosted a roundtable discussion themed “Mind, Body, Spirit: American Women in Journalism and Health” on Thursday afternoon as part of its 31st annual Women’s History Month series. Featured guest speakers presented their findings on the exclusion of women’s importance in major historical developments in journalism and healthcare, and emphasized the need to acknowledge women’s roles in society.

In upcoming weeks, the four main lanes on the northbound side of Interstate 35 as well as the southbound main lanes will be opening up.
Waco and Baylor’s history and age have allowed them to undoubtedly pick up a ghost story or two. Dr. Beth Barr, professor of history and associate dean of graduate studies, and Dr. Cindy Little, parapsychological researcher, discussed their favorite Waco and Baylor ghost stories.
Diana Barrett, public relations director and volunteer coordinator for The Salvation Army in Waco, said the organization’s community kitchen is a place where any person can receive free meals — 365 days a year, including holidays. The kitchen serves breakfast and dinner every day, and it serves lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays since a local cafe serves on other days.
Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a hub of people can be seen in a parking lot across from the Waco courthouse at the Waco Downtown Farmers Market, which has made a name for itself over the past 10 years. The farmers market is located at 500 Washington Ave. It operates year-round and has totaled $1.5 million in sales.

Waco drivers are already feeling it. The local average hit $3.38 a gallon last week, up 21 cents in seven days and 75 cents year-over-year, according to AAA data.

The near-total shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz has driven oil prices up more than 40%, pushing the national average to its highest point since 2023 and sending diesel past $5 for the first time in three years.
