Brown said the goal of the Accounting Society is to expose students to the field of accounting in a low-stress environment. What will be notable about the club is that anyone can join, even if they have not declared an accounting major.
Daniel Haddad, associate director for orientation programs, said ongoing construction at Draper Academic Building impacted the available spaces for the sessions. Therefore, the second day of orientation will take place exclusively in the Welcome Center.
“I just say bring back Vine,” Carlsbad, Calif., sophomore Camille True said as she expressed how complicated and problematic current social media apps like TikTok have become.
The Women’s History Month Roundtable: Reflections in History will display Baylor graduate students’ and professors’ research surrounding women and celebrate their contribution to history. The event is open to everyone and will be at 3:30 p.m. March 20 in the Lewis-Birkhead Lecture Hall of Armstrong Browning Library.

Galileo. Copernicus. Evolution. Stem cell research. Science and faith have been viewed in opposition throughout history, said Jim Coston, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Coston hopes to change that view with a series of guest lectures to be held at the church in April.
Baylor students have come together to host “We Run BecAuse,” a 5K race that will take place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Waco Dam. The money raised by the race will go to the A21 Campaign, an organization that fights human trafficking.
Although a war is rarely viewed as a means to a charitable end, Baylor’s chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity plans to challenge that view with its own war.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait. Waco drivers are already feeling it. The local average hit $3.38 a gallon last week, up 21 cents in seven days and 75 cents year-over-year, according to AAA data.
