Teams among the Waco community met on S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, across the street from Baylor’s McLane Stadium, to participate in Relay For Life. Relay For Life raises money to find the cure for cancer as well as allowing family members and friends to celebrate their loved ones who have survived cancer and those who have lost their lives in the battle against cancer.

Waco’s Church Under the Bridge meets on the corner of 4th street and I-35. The ministry reaches out to the community as a whole, from those living on the streets of Waco to students at Baylor and local residents.

The No. 5 Lady Bears easily handled 15-seed Northwestern State Friday afternoon at the Ferrell Center by a score of 77-36. Baylor switched on the cruise control after jumping out to an early double-digit lead over the Lady Demons.

For the second year in a row the Bears take home the conference title, going down in history as only the second team to win back-to-back Big 12 Championships. Baylor secured the No. 5 spot in the College Football Playoffs, reserving their spot against No. 8 Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl. Baylor will look to prove their worth as a national powerhouse at 11:30 a.m. on New Years Day at AT&T Stadium.

Waco is making a name for itself in the eclectic food culture that has become popular in Texas. Some restaurants are often overlooked, though, when considering the tastiest food in town.
