The No. 9 Baylor Lady Bears defended home court with a decisive 99-31 win over Savannah State Thursday at the Ferrell Center.

Senior guard Odyssey Sims finished with 22 points. Sophomore post Kristina Higgins had her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Baylor looked sloppy in the first half and had a five-minute scoring drought until freshman forward Nina Davis’ layup. The Lady Bears came out strong in the second half. The Lady Bears stout defense allowed 3 points to Savannah State in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Savannah State didn’t score its 10th point until 3:57 left in the game.

The attendance of 7,072 was the largest crowd this season for the Lady Bears at the Ferrell Center.

Baylor will continue its home stand with a game against Northwestern State at 7 p.m. Friday.
