North Richland Hills senior Daniel Jones passed away this morning while competing in the Bearathon. Jones collapsed near the finish line and was treated on scene. Medical personnel transported him to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where he died an hour later.

Lori Fogleman, a spokespearson for the university, expressed her condolences at the loss of the Baylor senior.

“Anytime we lose a student, it breaks our hearts,” Fogleman said. “We grieve alongside his family and friends. He was an outstanding representation of his family, of the university, and of his faith.”
