Breaking: Nearby robbery reported today

Baylor has announced another armed robbery near campus, three days after arresting a suspect in similar local crimes.


Campus Safety Alert – Armed Robbery Reported Before 7 a.m. Near Campus

Baylor and Waco Police are investigating a robbery that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. today at the Baylor Arms Apartments, 1500 S. Ninth St. The robbery victim, a Baylor student, was struck by an assailant but did not need medical attention.

The suspects are described as two black males in their mid 20s, one described as 5’ 8” and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, the other 5’10” and wearing a dark shirt and pants. They were last seen running toward Speight Avenue on Ninth Street.

Police continue to remind students to be alert to their surroundings and to not place themselves in an isolated situation regardless of whether they are on or off campus.
