“I’m a firm believer, and I think many are, of [having] a good process and then [trusting] the process, and I think we have a really good process here,” Villegas said. “So I think in trusting the process, the good process that we have, I think, what will emerge are the things that people genuinely care about.”

Baylor administrators gave students a chance to offer feedback and ask questions about the university’s draft strategic plan Tuesday at a town hall forum hosted by student government.

Baylor released its first public draft of its strategic plan on Dec. 12, and, as expected, its goals mirror that of the Baylor 2012 vision. The draft plan’s new approach, however, varies from Baylor 2012 in that the initial plan lists six broad goals but does not list specific measures to be taken toward those goals.

Baylor officials released on Dec. 12 the first public draft of the university’s next strategic plan, which will carry the university beyond the Baylor 2012 vision while reaffirming many of the expiring plan’s goals for university development.

Although a draft of the university’s new strategic plan will not be available until November, the Baylor family can now see how the Strategic Themes Committee has interpreted their input. The committee’s report was made available online Aug. 12, after being received by President Ken Starr and the Executive Council on June 24.

Baylor alumni will come together to share their ideas regarding the university’s future at strategic planning community input sessions in 12 cities across the nation, beginning this week. The sessions will conclude in April.
