Lyon is a Baylor alumnus and has been part of the faculty at Baylor since 1975, starting out as a professor of sociology up until 1998 when he became dean of the Graduate School and has been in that position since. When he retires at the end of this academic year, he will have completed 50 years at Baylor. During his tenure as dean, he has witnessed the transformation and contributed to the growth of the graduate school.

“It’s a very ambitious plan, but it’s the right plan for Baylor at this time,” Brickhouse said.
“I feel like a lot of the humanity has been taken out of politics,” Walsh said. “And, I feel like he’s really going to help people remember that in the end, we’re all just individuals, learning and growing and expressing ourselves.”
Provost Nancy Brickhouse created a new committee to address artificial intelligence at the July Board of Regents meeting. The committee will confront common questions and confusion that faculty, staff and students have regarding the use of AI.
Dr. Edwin Trevathan, Professor of Epidemiology in the College for Public Health and Social Justice at Saint Louis University has been appointed executive vice-president and provost by Baylor President and Chancellor Ken Starr. His appointment will become effective on June 1.
Dr. Edwin Trevathan will join Baylor as executive vice president and provost beginning June 1, 2015. Trevathan was selected from 20 potential applicants by a 14-person search committee comprised of faculty and staff. President and Chancellor Ken Starr announced the appointment today.
