“They swarm down the alley right past the dining hall, and if you ever pass by there, you will see at least one person screaming and running away,” Peschel said.

The third residence hall in a recent series of renovations, Penland Residence Hall, will close for yearlong improvements in May. In June, there will be a demolition process after the halls are cleared, and Penland will reopen next year in the spring semester.
At last Thursday’s Student Senate meeting, the Senate voted to recommend renovating five university dorms – Collins, Penland, North Russell, South Russell and Martin. While the plans aren’t final, they will likely call for adding additional student lounge and study spaces, improving bathrooms, replacing floors and ceilings and improving the technological capacities of the residence halls. The plan would be implemented over the next 15 to 20 years.

Fort Faculty, the Bill Daniel Student Center, Fountain Mall, Baylor Sciences Building, Moody Memorial Library, and several other campus locations are under construction to increase green space, update furniture and finishes, and make space for expanded and new dining options.
Construction has been approved for a National Pan-Hellenic Council Garden that will offer recognition for the Greek organizations in the council and give them an opportunity to educate the Baylor community about their history.
