At 8 p.m. on Sunday at Common Grounds, alumnae and current “The Voice” contestant Tori Templet performed an array of original songs in a show alongside opener and Vail, Colo. senior Langley Cerovich.
Following the original, Little Cat sang a cover of “Sleeping Bear, Sault Ste. Marie” by Sufjan Stevens, which he noted as being a significantly more upbeat rendition that ended up having a beautiful shoegaze-type solo in the middle.
The AfterDark Variety Show, presented by the student productions committee, kicked off family weekend. The show aims to showcase Baylor’s many talents to new freshmen and their visiting families. Friday night’s show was emceed by First Gentleman Brad Livingstone.
On Tuesday night at Common Grounds, under a full rainbow in the sky and tree branches above dripping with rainwater, Christian artist Luke Bower and his band put on a show for Baylor students. Despite the puddles on the picnic tables, students gathered around the band like a campfire, filling the backyard of the coffee shop.
Vail, Colo., junior Langley Cerovich is the Music Industry Club’s newest signed artist, but he has been surrounded by music his whole life.
In fall 2022, the Music Industry Club became the only organization on campus to cater to students who want to work in the music industry after college.
