The term “Baraat” in South Asia is used to describe a festive occasion of the South Asian customs, traditions and culture. Essentially, Baraat is a gathering of friends and family celebrating a loved one with the coupling of delicious food and extravagant dancing.

Baylor’s chapter of Kappa Phi Gamma, a South Asian interest sorority, hosted its first in-person CARE Week since the pandemic this week. The event, which stands for “Cancer Awareness, a Real Effort,” is dedicated to the sorority’s philanthropy of cancer awareness.
Kappa Phi Gamma will host the fourth annual Mr. C.A.R.E. Week Pageant from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Bennett Auditorium. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door for $5, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Scott and White Research foundation in Temple. Scott and White Healthcare is a non-profit collaborative health care system that was founded in 1897.
Baylor’s Gamma chapter of Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority held its CARE Week kickoff rally Tuesday in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Student Senate voted on several issues that included funding for Relay for Life to increasing the number of printers in the Baylor Sciences Building.
The Bill Daniel Student Center Den came alive Wednesday with the activity and enthusiasm of the racial and culturally diverse members of Multicultural Greek Council organizations at their annual Meet the Greeks event. Representatives from each of the member organizations manned booths and presented brief performances showcasing the character of their organization.
