Sunday at Baylor Ballpark handed the baseball team chilly weather and a chance to take the three game series against Kansas State. After the 21st ranked Bears rallied to grab a 4-3 win over the Wildcats, they move to 3-3 in conference play.

Baylor baseball continues its 14-game homestand as it battles Kansas State this weekend in the Bears’ second conference series of the season. Coach Steve Smith said he hopes to see more of what has brought the Bears to a 14-7 record.

Selection Sunday brought record levels of eye-rolling and scoffing. Columnists complained and analysts agonized about a weaker-than-ever NCAA tournament field that included seven teams with at least 13 losses. The expanded tournament just meant more unworthy teams, the line of thinking went.

From the first toss to the last winner, the 10th-ranked Baylor women’s tennis team dominated the Kentucky Wildcats Wednesday. The Bears swept the dual match 7-0 and did not drop a set in singles play.

Another of Baylor’s teams is national championship tournament bound, but unlike the Lady Bears basketball team, this team is flying under the radar.

Even after an unforeseen loss to unranked Texas Tech last Saturday, the Lady Bears still have their hands outstretched for the Big 12 title. The men, however, still need to find that extra something to secure a bid for the big dance.

Baylor could not overcome a sloppy first half and dropped its Monday night matchup at Kansas State, 69-61. Junior Quincy Acy led the Bears with 14 points, and three others finished in double figures.
