Baylor football’s presence at the NFL Combine consistently sees widespread improvement from year to year.

Last weekend, six Baylor players participated in the 2014 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis,— safety Ahmad Dixon, running back Lache Seastrunk, tight end Jordan Najvar, cornerback Demetri Goodson, offensive guard Cyril Richardson and wide receiver Tevin Reese.

Three players, three paths, one mission. That’s how junior running back Lache Seastrunk, senior tight end Jordan Najvar and senior cornerback Demetri Goodson look at it.

Seastrunk, Najvar and Goodson play in different positions, but their common denominator is that they are native Texans who decided to go to West Coast schools and ended up transferring to Baylor so they could be back in Texas.

A strong 28-0 start by Baylor in Saturday’s game looked to be a blowout. Although Baylor did win big, the Bears made some mistakes that allowed Rice to close the gap to 56-31.

Following a season filled with injuries and disappointment, Art Briles and the Bears returned for the 2010 season and hoisted Baylor football to a place it had not been in over a decade.
