Her composition and direction of “Tē Kallistē” wove a beautiful tale, encouraging discourse on the nature of beauty through the reimagining of the nine Muses from Greek mythology.

What began as a half-joking comment about “majoring in ‘Hadestown’” has evolved into a three-year creative undertaking for North Richland Hills senior Annalise Shero — one that blends Greek mythology, philosophy and music into a fully realized original production.
For 1,000 years, Boethius’ book — “The Consolation of Philosophy” — was the second most-read book in the world behind the Bible since his death in A.D. 524, Murray said. However, in the past few centuries, fewer and fewer people have read it, and as a result, fewer people remember who Boethius was.
No one is excluded from questioning how to live well, and Great Texts prepares you to answer.
“The Great Texts major offers an apprenticeship in the long conversation — from the ancients to the present — about the most practical and important questions informing daily life and intellectual inquiry in the modern world,” Donnelly said.
Students taking this course learn about experiences that may be foreign to them, Miner said. They can dive into the texts highlighted in the curriculum and ask questions as they are learning that can become topics of discussion afterward.
