Monday was an emotional night for the No. 1 Lady Bears as the seniors were honored at the end of their last regular season game with a tribute video on senior night. Many fans wore yellow shirts in support of the winningest seniors in school history.

In Baylor’s November matchup with Tennessee, sophomore Odyssey Sims couldn’t buy a bucket; her only points were from a pair of free throws.

I don’t know what’s harder to believe- the fact that Quincy Acy, Anthony Jones and Fred Ellis will never play another game for Baylor at the Ferrell Center, or the fact that I will never watch another men’s basketball game there as a student.

With the defending national champions coming to town this weekend, one would think all the focus would be on Texas A&M and the Aggies would be the team wearing special uniforms.

Zone defenses, junk defenses, small ball or walk it up the court: when it comes to opposing teams’ efforts to stop undefeated, top-ranked Baylor, there aren’t many looks coach Kim Mulkey hasn’t encountered this season.

The No. 1 Baylor Lady Bears proved that there is more to their team besides a 6-foot-8-inch post as they defeated UCLA 83-50 to advance to the final round of the preseason WNIT.

A stingy, glamour-less first half defense paved the way for the No. 1 seed Lady Bears to overpower No. 16 seed Prairie View A&M, 66-30, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday at the Ferrell Center.
