There is ongoing debate about the constitutionality of banning books from local libraries or institutions. While some argue that book banning infringes on freedom of speech, others hold that certain content should be limited to certain contexts.

Fabled Bookshop and Cafe will host its fourth biannual “Buzzed Bee,” an adult spelling bee, on Feb. 28. This month’s theme is “Dr. Seuss,” featuring a playful list of “very silly and Seuss-y words,” according to Fabled’s communications manager Kai Jackson.

While Fabled is obviously much smaller than Barnes & Noble, I think it has many qualities that make it more desirable to go to than the well-known bookstore. I would encourage people to forget about Barnes & Noble and support the local Fabled Bookshop & Cafe instead.

People don’t have to hunt for autographs Saturday.

A book signing featuring local authors, Baylor alumni and current Baylor students will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Baylor Bookstore. Fourteen authors will be present.
