It’s no secret that the Baylor Chamber of Commerce facilitates most of the preparation for homecoming weekend. However, most students don’t see their long days and hard work. Representatives from Chamber shed light on the process.

Rain impacted more than just the football game last weekend. Due to lightning, several Family Weekend events like Taste Of Waco and Family Weekend Marketplace were canceled altogether.
The Baylor Line has been a major Baylor tradition for over 50 years. Starting in 1970, the Line was created as a short-term solution to get fans interested in the football program coming off a 0-10 season the year prior. Since the mid ’90s, the tradition has morphed into something much larger than anyone could have imagined.
Diadeloso. One of the most anticipated traditions of Baylor. An 83-year-old event that gives students a break from classes to engage in outdoor activities — not all of which happen to be on campus.
A week before Baylor’s Diadeloso celebration, no headliner has been announced.
Diadeloso chair Pauline Minnaar said the delay was a publicity strategy to draw attention to the other events. However, a tweet from the band may have ruined the surprise.
Nothing consumes and defines Baylor life in the spring semester so much as All-University Sing, a marathon of Broadway-style shows put on by Sing Alliance, Baylor Chamber of Commerce and various Greek organizations every year in front of family and alumni from all over the country as part of a 61-year tradition.
When the curtain rises, all the audience sees is the glare of stage lights against dramatic make-up, flashy costumes and newly painted props. This year, 18 acts are performing, including paired acts and Sing Alliance, which consists of students who are not involved in Greek organizations but still want to participate.
Thursday was Diadeloso, the one day of the year every student looks forward to. Filled with warm Texas weather, relaxation and entertainment, Dia provides students with a time to celebrate being a Baylor Bear.
Members of the Student Senate discussed a proposal that would be the largest overhaul of its internal operations in years at its Thursday meeting, also passing a resolution in support of adding a male representative to the homecoming court.
I looked for things like choreography, song choice, vocal talent, overall execution and story development.
