As the result of an errant autocorrect, junior running back Silas Nacita was dubbed “Salsa Nacho.” Through the popular SB Nation blog “Our Daily Bears,” the hashtag #SalsaNacho received dozens of mentions on Twitter and became a recognizable meme to Baylor fans across the country. A fan was even seen with a “Salsa Nacho” sign at Saturday’s game.

Six Baylor football players have been invited to the 2014 NFL Draft Combine from Feb. 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind. The six hope to join 10 other former Bears currently in the NFL by being selected in May’s 2014 NFL Draft in New York City. Baylor’s graduating class features two All-Americans and five All-Big 12 team members.

It takes a lot more to care for a North American black bear than water and a little sunlight.

Mascots Lady and Joy’s current habitat, the Bill & Eva Williams Bear Habitat, is a registered United States Department of Agriculture Class C zoo, though Baylor’s bear care hasn’t always met today’s care standards.

Flashback to Sept. 29, 2012: Baylor had just put up 581 passing yards, 700 yards of total offense and 63 points against No. 9 West Virginia… and lost.

In that game, the Baylor defense allowed West Virginia to pass for an astounding 656 yards and finish with 807 yards of total offense.

The Baylor Bears defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers 80-60 on Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center to move to 7-4 in the Big 12 Conference.

Baylor improved its overall record to 16-8.

With the win, Baylor is a legitimate contender to win the Big 12.

The Baylor Bears host the West Virginia Mountaineers at 8 p.m. today in the Ferrell Center. It’s a pivotal matchup for both teams as Baylor and West Virginia are neck and neck in Big 12 Conference standings.

After a lightning hot 5-1 start in conference, the Bears cooled off during a three-game losing streak. On Saturday, Baylor bounced back to end the losing streak by defeating Texas Tech.
