Women's Basketball
After three seasons at Oklahoma, Kiersten Johnson arrived at Baylor with a winning résumé. But in Waco, the senior forward found something even greater in her final season: a fresh start and renewed purpose on a team that felt like home.
Baylor women’s basketball has not achieved its previously expected heights so far under head coach Nicki Collen’s tenure. Yet the evolution of the sport has made her job more difficult than ever before.
No. 21 Baylor finished the season with a 5-5 record, including a first-round loss to Colorado in the Big 12 Tournament. Despite the slow finish, the Bears ended up in third place in the conference.
Equestrian

Baylor equestrian knocked off No. 5 Georgia 11-8 for its first ranked win of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The spring portion of the season for Baylor equestrian is set for this weekend, and assistant coach (horsemanship) Jessie Weisinger said the team is taking a day-to-day approach going into Saturday’s match against Georgia.
Tennis
Many aspiring tennis players dream of playing at Center Court. While it may not be under the lights of a Grand Slam, junior Devin Badenhorst welcomed the privilege and responsibility that comes with playing on Court One for No. 20 Baylor men’s tennis.
Freshman Blake Anderson had ties to Baylor men’s tennis growing up two hours north of Waco. He now has the opportunity to represent the Lone Star State as a freshman on an international roster.
No. 20 Baylor men’s tennis is riding into February on a four-match win streak. The Bears hope to build off that momentum as they face top-10 teams in their next three matches. They also look to beat No. 4 TCU for the first time since 2022.
Golf
Baylor Men’s Golf season begins Sept. 8 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate Invitational, marking a fresh start for the Bears.
Baylor men’s golf carded its best round of the week Thursday but closed the season in a tie for 14th in the Big 12 Championship with a 69-over 1,189 at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla.
Needing 11th place or higher to become eligible for the postseason, Baylor women’s golf squeezes by, placing 11th in the Big 12 Championship. They shot 49-over 901 after the final round on Thursday at Houston Oaks Country Club in Hockley, Texas.
