No. 19. Baylor softball opened the 2025 season in the Aggie Classic, finishing the five-game weekend with a 6-4 loss to Utah State and an 8-2 win over Villanova on Saturday afternoon at Davis Diamond in College Station with a 3-2 record.
On the same night she was honored for scoring 1,000 career points, junior forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs picked up her 10th double-double of the year, leading all players with a season-high 26 points and 15 rebounds to push Baylor women’s basketball past BYU 83-71 Saturday evening at the Foster Pavilion.
Saturday was supposed to be the Bears’ first healthy game since December. But five minutes in, starting center Josh Ojianwuna went down with a knee injury.
Friday night, Baylor men’s tennis traveled to Lincoln, Neb., and won the first matchup of its Midwest road trip, defeating Nebraska 4-2 inside the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
No. 10 Baylor equestrian took an early lead against No. 7 Fresno State but faltered in Reining and Flat, leading to an 11-9 decision in favor of the Bulldogs Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center in California.

Men's Basketball
All 12 players who saw the court made a shot as No. 9 Baylor men’s basketball routed Nicholls 108-70 Tuesday night in the Ferrell Center. The blowout win came with fan-favorite senior forward Austin Sacks (3) outscoring the team’s leading scorer entering the contest, freshman guard Ja’Kobe Walter (2).

Women's Basketball
With three new transfer guards, James Akinjo, Jordan Lewis and Ja’Mee Asberry, have stepped up to help Baylor further excel their basketball program.

Equestrian
The Baylor equestrian team hopes to ride its way to a victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs on Friday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The meet, which will begin at noon, marks the seventh competition for the Bears since the season began.
The Baylor equestrian team is coming off of a National Championship last season and the win of their first event of the 2012 season, The Willis Invitational. With all of their success, it is only appropriate that Baylor Nation is educated on what exactly it is that the team does. The team rides in both Western and English styles, competing in two events from each category.
From clinking spurs to pounding hooves, the Baylor equestrian team will be in full force this weekend as it travels to take on Kansas State and Oklahoma State.
“It will be a very full weekend of travel and running around,” head coach Ellen White said. “It is going to be a great time for the girls to get to know each other. One big road trip.”
The competitions this weekend will mark the team’s first Big 12 events of the season.
Tennis
Baylor’s eight-match winning streak was broken with the Bears loss to Texas Saturday. Baylor’s only other loss of the season was also to the Longhorns back in January.
The Bears fought hard for the doubles point and took victories on courts two, four and five in singles to clinch the win over Wake Forest.
The Bears are on a seven game tear taking a close win over the Horned Frogs on Thursday.
Golf
A top-five finish to start the spring season is what the Baylor men’s golf team comes back to Waco with, from the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio.
Toughness. That’s what Baylor women’s golf head coach Sylvia Ferdon is stressing to her team entering the spring portion of the season. Coming off one of the worst winters in her 17 seasons at Baylor, she told her team it was imperative to have mental toughness going into the season and stay the course.
