As the current and two-term Student Body Internal Vice President and President of Student Senate, I am offering my endorsement of Nick Pokorny as Student Body President. Experience is a necessary attribute to being SBP and a key characteristic of Nick’s. Nick, having been a student senator in the campus improvements committee, Baylor ambassador, chairman and member of the University Sustainability Student Advisory Board, University Judicial Affairs student representative, LEAD LLC program member, among others, has had exposure to key aspects of campus life affecting students. Through this exposure he has built relationships with students, faculty, and administrators that will directly benefit the student body in the months and years to come.
How much smack have you talked lately? The last time you saw a friend from another Texas university, or any other university for that matter, did you strike the Heisman pose? Maybe you asked that friend to toss you something just so you could swat it back into his or her face and yell, “Griner!”
Baylor students may have a hard time hitting their target GPA in upcoming years.
Tap, tap, tap. And it strikes. My typing is interrupted by a cacophony of birdcalls and mock nature sounds – my non-smartphone ringtone (which I still need to change.)
Free speech and the Internet are under attack once again. Arizona House Bill 2549 looks to amend the telephone harassment section of the state’s anti-stalking law to include online communication of today.
Baylor has had a successful year in sports. You know most of this already, but here’s a refresher. We’ve had a Heisman winner, a 10-win football team, a men’s basketball Elite Eight appearance and a women’s basketball national championship.
This semester I have had the privilege of covering matches for the women’s tennis team. Whenever I began writing for The Lariat, I was really nervous because it was my first time reporting and writing and I didn’t really know what to expect.
Recently, officials at the Baylor School of Law made a blunder that got a lot of people talking and made many more concerned about the safety of their personal information.
