No. 17 Baylor volleyball extended its winning streak to six, sweeping Texas Tech 25-17, 25-18, 28-16, on Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock. The Bears dominated on offense and defense, totaling 44 kills and 14 blocks.
Baylor alumnus finds passion during undergrad, works 39 years at Texas Baptist Historical Collection
What started out as an available job on campus working at the Texas Collection eventually turned into a passion and kickstarted the career of a 1984 Baylor alumnus. Alan Lefever is director of the Texas Baptist Historical Collection and has served there for 33 years as the director. Before that, he was a student employee for six years at Baylor, working for the Texas Collection a total of 39 years.
“There’s a sense of responsibility when you work with a donated body,” Alwani said. “It’s a reminder that these were people who made the choice to help others learn and grow.”
The Nigeria native enters his junior season with a starting job and something to prove.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
