The Knights had allowed just seven first-quarter points heading into Saturday, but after less than nine minutes of play, the Bears took command with a 14-0 lead. Baylor now sits above .500 after taking its first two-touchdown lead since September.
Baylor got out to its fastest start of the season Saturday, racking up over 300 first-half yards in a blowout win over the Knights. The win ends a two-game skid and moves the Bears to 5-4 on the season.
UCF only managed to muster 74 rushing yards Saturday against a rejuvenated Baylor defense. Freshman Caden Knighten had 104 by himself, giving fans a glimpse of a balanced rushing attack of the future.

At a press conference held just after midnight, D. L. Wilson, Public Information Officer for the Texas State Troopers, confirmed that there had been fatalities but would not confirm a number. When asked on a previously reported death count of 60 to 70, Wilson declined to comment. Wilson did confirm a large number of injuries.

Following the news of the explosion in West, almost one hundred students and faculty from the Baylor community came together at a student organized candlelight vigil to pray outside of Waco Hall.
The vigil was started by Baylor Sophomore Class President Ben Prado, from Richardson, who tweeted to fellow classmates to meet him in front of Waco Hall at midnight. Prado purchased several candles and lighters and waited for students to join him.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
