Of the many clubs Baylor has to offer, Aikijujutsu Club is the only one of its kind. This modern Japanese, comprehensive martial art focuses on blending an opponent’s energy and redirecting it with fluid, graceful movements, turning conflict into harmony.
Students were eager to explore their options at the Study Abroad Fair on Tuesday during Dr Pepper Hour in the Bill Daniel Student Center, where representatives showcased a variety of international programs designed to broaden academic and cultural horizons. The event provided attendees with information on destinations, scholarships and immersive experiences, and it encouraged students to take their education beyond the classroom.
As pre-nursing students navigate their transition from Waco to Dallas, they face challenges with a different pace of learning, housing and finding ways to get involved in organizations all while staying connected with the Waco campus.
The two issues, which were being fixed concurrently, were identified and have been promptly addressed by the facilities management apparatus.

President Barack Obama approved a bill to rename the Waco Veterans Affairs Medical Center after the first African-American to receive the Navy Cross, Waco resident Doris “Dorie” Miller on Dec. 19.
Over 200 people of all ages, colors and backgrounds gathered Monday at the Jubilee Theatre for Mission Waco’s production of “A Woman Called Truth: The Story of Sojourner Truth.” The production was a part of a day long celebration addressing racial history and tensions of Waco.
Though only two miles away from campus, few Baylor students have visited the street that once stood as Waco’s cultural and economic heart.
Those who have visited find Elm Street bears more resemblance to a ghost town than the bustling economic center it once was.
Now, over 60 years since the community was devastated by a tornado in 1953 that claimed hundreds of businesses, a specialized team of Baylor business students led by Dr. Marlene Reed, a senior lecturer, have set themselves to the task of revitalizing the community.
