Baylor took a 4-set win over Texas State at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos Wednesday night. The Bears had dropped a 4-set thriller last year to the Bobcats.

“If I have a lot of tests, you’ll find me at Common Grounds or Starbucks,” junior outside hitter Andie Malloy said. Malloy’s love for coffee shops has her spending a lot of time there, and said she loves people-watching while there.

Baylor volleyball suffered a disappointing season in 2013. With a 12-20 overall record, the team finished Big 12 conference play in a tie for seventh place with a 4-12 record and ended on a four game losing streak.

A sports team finally getting its own dedicated facility for training and housing has made a huge difference for other teams in the past. Soccer teams like Sporting Kansas City, the New York Red Bulls and the Houston Dynamo each went through many dark years in a shared or old stadium/training environment.

Last season came down to one game, possibly even one goal, senior goalkeeper Michelle Kloss said. It felt that close, which made being left out of the NCAA tournament a big disappointment for the team as a whole.
