The East Waco Library, located at Elm Avenue will re-open Saturday at 10 a.m. “East Waco was in desperate need of tender loving care,” said Essy Day, director of library services. “We decided to renovate to make it more modern.” After over a year of renovating, the East Waco library is ready for the public to enjoy. The Mayborn Museum Complex, however, is seeking to change that while bringing the Waco and Baylor communities closer together. Every Saturday morning, farmers and artisans from all around Waco come together and set up their tables in order to provide local Waco residents with the true farm-to-market experience. The Waco Downtown Farmers Market supplies the Waco area with an array of homegrown produce ranging from fresh peaches to organic black bean tamales to even locally brewed kombucha. Rain or shine, students showed their Baylor pride at the Traditions Rally on Thursday night. As the tailgate event started off, students were met with a good deal of rain, which resulted in the rally being canceled. Even with the spirit rally being postponed indefinitely, nothing could dampen the pride the students showed in Baylor. Before the cancellation, students gathered in Fountain Mall to enjoy Ultimate Frisbee, corn hole and many other activities.
