Hundreds of Baylor students spent the evening walking around Fountain Mall in support of cancer patients. Students signed up for the event in teams, and each team was required to have at least one person walking in the relay at a time. Change the World in a Day is an event where Baylor Chapel raises money for a specific charitable cause. The money raised this year was donated to Daniel and Zippy Sindiyo’s ministry in Kenya. The Sindiyos’ came to Monday’s chapel service to tell the students about their ministry, which protects young girls in Kenya who would have to go through a process called Female Genital Mutilation, or FGM, and get married at a very young age. Hugh Jackman has had the most impressive run of any superhero actor to date. Jackman has been the face of the X-Men franchise for 17 years, and next week when “Logan,” his final portrayal of Wolverine, hits theaters, it will be the ninth time Jackman has played the character. By Jack Parsley | Reporter Dr. Jedidah Isler, the first African-American woman to receive a PhD in astrophysics from Yale, shared the story of her journey with a group of Baylor students Tuesday night as a part of the Academy Leader Development Lecture Series. As a child, Isler was fascinated by the night sky and would frequently spend her nights outside stargazing, she said. When she was 12 years old, she read a library book about careers in science that helped her discover the field of astrophysics.
