How to hoco like it’s 2016

While 10 years have passed since 2016, nostalgia for the year is on the rise.

Despite the pastels being 10 years in the past, 2016 is back now more than ever. If you’re nostalgia crazy and crave the “simpler times,” you’re in luck. It’s time to travel back in time and hoco like it’s 2016.

    What to wear

The best way to bring 2016 to homecoming is to dress the part. This includes skinny jeans, a sherpa jacket, plenty of Kendra Scott jewelry and crop tops galore. A way you can show up and show out 2016 style is to pair your line jersey with leggings and sneakers, with the most notable sneakers are from Vans or Adidas.

For those who want something less casual, you can pair some skinny jeans with a 2016 top of your choice. The most accurate choices are crop tops, off-the-shoulder tops, bell-sleeved tops, or a Baylor-themed graphic tee. You can also never go wrong with a chevron print. In case you get chilly, throw on a bomber jacket, a sherpa half-zip or an infinity scarf. Make sure to pair this outfit with suede booties or Converse shoes.

    How to do your hair

If you’re wondering what to do with your hair, you can never go wrong with a side part. You can whip out your straightener for the full effect. If you prefer updos, space buns, french braids or classic messy buns will do nicely.

    How to do your makeup

Makeup should not be dewy and Hailey Bieber-esque like we’re accustomed to. Whip out your matte foundation, Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade and Kylie Jenner lip kit. In fact, pull up Kylie Jenner’s old Instagram posts and take heavy inspiration from the queen herself. On top, apply a Baylor temporary tattoo for some glammed up school spirit.

    What to do

Now that you’re ready for homecoming, it’s time to kill some time. If you’re hungry, you could go to George’s Restaurant before the game. Afterward, if you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, you can go visit Silos Baking Co. Make sure to go with friends and take some pictures for Instagram. However, do not post it without slapping on the Clarendon or Rio de Janeiro filter.

On your way to the game, get a frappuccino, listen to some boyband music and reapply your Baby Lips chapstick. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and return back to a time where Tiktok was still called Musical.ly and hoverboards were a primary mode of transportation.
