Baylor Athletics shows fan appreciation with “Meet the Bears”

Baylor Athletics held their annual “Meet the Bears” event at McLane Stadium this past Saturday with a new twist to the fun. For the first time in the four year history of the fan-oriented meet and greet, the football team was not the only program showcased. Players and coaches from various men’s and women’s teams joined Bear football on the stadium concourse to sign autographs and take pictures with fans young and old.

While nearly a dozen teams were able to meet their fans, much of the buzz at the event revolved around the Baylor football team who kicks off their season at home this Saturday against in-state school Stephen F. Austin. Coach Matt Rhule and star starting quarterback Charlie Brewer were not hard to find as lines longer than I-35 stretched across McLane to get to both.

Overall, the event went off without a hitch as hundreds of supporters donned their green and gold to show support for each team in attendance. As a school who saw 18 of 19 athletic teams make a postseason tournament in the 2018-2019 school year, Baylor Athletics has more hype now than ever.
