Baylor students and staff gathered Wednesday afternoon at the foot of Judge Baylor to pray for everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The community coming together has helped Houston freshman, Katie Hamilton during this hard time.

“We’re sticking together and not censoring ourselves and talking about it when we need to and just being there for each other,” Hamilton said.

Harvey has affected various people at Baylor and many have said praying has helped.

“I felt like I can’t really help them down there but I felt like praying was the only thing I could do, so I felt like coming to this was the greatest thing I could do hands on,” said Ohio senior, Annie Luksch.

Although students are at Baylor are taking classes, many of their hearts are back home with their families.

“It worries me a lot because they are going out to help people evacuate, but I just worry something is going to happen to them,” said Houston freshman, Hannah Harper.

There are continuing efforts to help the victims of Harvey all across campus, including donation areas at Baylor’s upcoming Traditions Rally.
