The Lady Bears volleyball team will be in action 6 p.m. tonight where they will give fans a glimpse to see what is in store for the season in the Green & Gold Scrimmage at the Ferrell Center.

Fans are encouraged to stay after the match for a chance to meet the Lady Bears and have an autograph session.

With injuries plaguing the team, and line-up that consists of nine returners and eight newcomers, it will be a chance to see a preview of what the season has in store for the team in head coach Ryan McGuyre’s second year.

“They have really impressed from day one,” McGuyre said said in a previous interview. “It’s really a goal for us to be one team, to be one, to be like-minded. We are really finding our rhythm despite some injuries that have set us back a little.”

McGuyre said his team has had a strong off-season and the work they have put in will show.

“They have been phenomenal since May 30 when all the girls got here,” McGuyre said. “I think we are looking forward to see the joy that’s going to come from playing the right way and the anticipation of what that might produce.”

Junior outside hitter Katie Staiger said she looks forward to see what her team can do and plans to see them go far in post-season action.

“Im really looking forward to Big 12 play and taking it really far in the tournament,” Staiger said in a previous interview. “I think with this group that we are going to put on the floor we are really going to be able to do that.”

The Lady Bears regular season kicks off Friday at the Ferrell Center, where they will play University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the first round of the Hampton Inn & Suites Baylor Invitational.
