No. 3 Baylor equestrian was named the No. 2 overall seed in the NCEA National Championships on April 16-18 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.

With the top four seed, the reigning Big 12 champions (13-4, 4-2) earn a first round bye at the championships. Baylor recently captured the conference title after tournament wins over TCU and Kansas State last weekend.

The Bears will face the winner of seven-seed TCU and 10-seed Oklahoma State in the NCEA quarterfinals. If they win, they will advance to the semifinal round of the tournament, where they fell to eventual champion and one-seed Georgia last year.

In the Big 12 championships, three riders earned Most Outstanding Player awards after the conclusion of the tournament. The Bears have Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year Ellen White at the helm where Baylor took home the 2012 hunter seat title. Due to recent rule changes only one champion will be crowned at the 2015 championships.

No time has been set yet for the start of the tournament.
