At about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Baylor reported the restoration of one of two boilers that ceased functioning Wednesday night. The boilers provide air and water heating to campus residence halls.

This afternoon, one boiler has been repaired and brought back on line. It is now providing hot water and heat to the campus while the second boiler continues to undergo repairs. We appreciate the patience of the University community as we have worked to rectify this situation.

Boiler repairs are underway, and it is expected that one boiler will be up and running by this afternoon. We will send an update when we have more definitive information on the second boiler. In the meanwhile, please plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

To the campus community:
Two boilers on the Baylor campus, which provide heat and hot water to Baylor’s residence halls, are currently not operating. While repair crews have been notified, it is likely that the residence halls will have no heat and no hot water in the morning. With the possibility of colder than normal temps in residence halls, classrooms and elsewhere, students are advised to make extra efforts to ensure they remain warm and comfortable. In the morning if both boilers are still offline, classes and offices will be chilly. We will provide further updates as the situation warrants.
