Tips make up a majority of a waiter’s income. We should be kind to our service workers and tip them. This causes around 5.5 million United States workers to miss out on the income that they rely on.

While I agree, tipping culture is necessary in some circumstances, we shouldn’t become accustomed to tipping for services that don’t go the extra mile, such as simply completing a fast-food order or pouring a drink.
For the person tipping, it’s easy to move on from leaving a zero on the tip section of a receipt or pressing one simple button. For the employee on the other end, though, tipping impacts both their paycheck and their livelihood.
