The Student Body Constitution states that fall elections must occur prior to the sixth Friday of the semester, which would be Oct. 4. At the foundation of the United States’ government is the system of checks and balances. It is laid out in the U.S. Constitution, a document in which the Baylor Student Body Constitution declares itself to be under. Under such a system, there is a separation of powers.

Exactly 800 changes to the Student Body Constitution are up for approval at Thursday’s Student Senate meeting, some of which have drawn scrutiny from both members of Student Court and the Senate.
