The U.S Basketball Writers Association and Associated Press both named sophomore forward Nina Davis an All-American on Tuesday. It’s Baylor’s fifth straight season to have a player named, as Davis joins Odyssey Sims (2012-14) and Brittney Griner (2011-13).

The No. 6 Lady Bears (27-3, 16-2) capped off their extraordinary 2015 season with a 75-65 win over Texas Tech (15-15, 5-13) on Monday at the Ferrell Center. Baylor looked to bounce back from last week, which saw the team’s first two losses of 2015 against Oklahoma and Iowa State.

The No. 3 Lady Bears secured the outright Big 12 title with a dominant 91-75 performance on Saturday against the TCU Horned Frogs at the Ferrell Center. Saturday’s game was one of four chances Baylor had to guarantee a non-tie for the Big 12 trophy.

The stakes keep stacking higher for the No. 3 Lady Bears. Baylor set itself apart from this season’s Big 12 Conference women’s basketball teams over the weekend. The Lady Bears are the only undefeated team remaining in the Big 12 after reaching a 9-0 league record with a 66-58 win over Kansas on Sunday at the Ferrell Center.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Lady Bears won their fourth straight Big 12 title Monday night after beating the West Virginia Mountaineers 74-71. Baylor was led by freshman forward Nina Davis, the youngest player in the starting lineup, in a back-and-forth, physical title game thriller that saw nine lead changes.

Last year, the Lady Bears lost someone many called the ultimate post player. Brittney Griner entered the 2013 WNBA draft, marking the end of an era, but the beginning of another in Baylor women’s basketball.

Lady Bears head coach Kim Mulkey admits she did not have a complete idea of how her team would do this season.

With only one returning starter and the majority of the current team being freshmen, Mulkey knew she needed a couple of players to step up for the team, regardless of their age or experience.
