The No. 8 Baylor men’s tennis team fell to No. 10 Virginia 6-1 on Saturday. No. 18 women’s tennis had better luck, opening Big 12 Conference play with a 6-1 victory over No. 28 Texas Tech at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.

Baylor men’s tennis earned both the singles and doubles titles in the 11th annual Baylor-HEB Invitational at the Hurd Tennis Center this past weekend.

There were highs and lows for the Baylor men, but in the end, they walked off the court as champions.

The Big 12 Conference announced today that men’s tennis head coach Matt Knoll has received a one-game suspension for vular language – “conduct toward an opposing student-athlete” at the Apr. 6 win against the Longhorns. Knoll will serve the suspension with the Apr 15 game against Oklahoma.

The No. 16 Baylor men’s tennis team stayed red hot as it dominated the eighth-ranked Stanford Cardinal 6-1 and kept their winning streak against ranked opponents intact.

The year was different but the results were the same, as the ninth-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team handily defeated the No. 52 TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday.

The Baylor men’s tennis team dominated No. 6 UCLA early in doubles, but the Bruins made a comeback in singles and edged the No. 9 Bears 4-3 Sunday at the Baylor Tennis Center.

A frigid blast of winter weather chilled Central Texas, forcing the seventh-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team to move the match to Lion Tennis Center in Ennis last Thursday.
