Baylor men’s tennis earned three points in a row in its match Wednesday against Tulsa at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Baylor men’s tennis team was defeated by Florida on Sunday in Waco. The Bears drop to 1-1 on the season and Florida moved to 1-0.
Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams have the talent to be as victorious as their recent seasons.
Ranked as the No. 3 freshman nationally by ITA, Mate Zsiga had an impressive first season this fall.
Although no one walked away with a title, junior Roberto Maytin and freshman Mate Zsiga each won quarterfinal matches in singles before falling in the semifinals as men’s tennis competed in the USTA/ITA Texas Regional this weekend in College Station.
Both men’s and women’s tennis travel this weekend with chances to earn spots in the national championships.
Baylor men’s tennis earned both the singles and doubles titles in the 11th annual Baylor-HEB Invitational at the Hurd Tennis Center this past weekend.
Baylor fans have plenty to follow this weekend as several teams are in action: men’s tennis will be home Friday, Saturday and Sunday for their season opener in the HEB Invitational, women’s cross country competes Friday at the Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster meet in Toledo, Ohio, and on Sunday and Monday, women’s golf will be at the Dick Maguire Invitational tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.
