Baylor football’s presence at the NFL Combine consistently sees widespread improvement from year to year.

Last weekend, six Baylor players participated in the 2014 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis,— safety Ahmad Dixon, running back Lache Seastrunk, tight end Jordan Najvar, cornerback Demetri Goodson, offensive guard Cyril Richardson and wide receiver Tevin Reese.

At first glance, you might not think that a recliner has anything to do with the Fiesta Bowl, but many Baylor and University of Central Florida players would disagree. When a football team competes in a bowl game, the bowl provides each player with a gift package. This year, many of the players chose a recliner as their Fiesta Bowl gift.

Baylor’s game against No. 10 Oklahoma on Nov. 7 could have easily been a disastrous turn in the season. Baylor lost three of its top offensive weapons in senior running back Glasco Martin, junior running back Lache Seastrunk and senior wide receiver Tevin Reese.

Heading into the OU game, those three players had combined for 1,999 yards and 24 touchdowns, or 39.7 percent of Baylor’s offensive yards and 44.4 percent of Baylor’s offensive touchdowns this season.

He is a talented athlete, a Cartoon Network fanatic, and now, Temple junior Lache Seastrunk shows the public yet another facet of his personality — his heart.

Seastrunk can be seen wearing his wristband that says “Molly” both on and off the field.

He said he never takes it off.

Three players, three paths, one mission. That’s how junior running back Lache Seastrunk, senior tight end Jordan Najvar and senior cornerback Demetri Goodson look at it.

Seastrunk, Najvar and Goodson play in different positions, but their common denominator is that they are native Texans who decided to go to West Coast schools and ended up transferring to Baylor so they could be back in Texas.

Baylor football left the Alamadome field victorious on Dec. 30, 2011. The team returned the field Tuesday for the first time since to begin spring practice.
