No. 17 Baylor softball played one of their most impressive games of the season Thursday night as it run-ruled No. 5 Oklahoma in six innings to take a big 8-0 shutout in Norman, Okla. It’s the first time the team has beaten a top five opponent on the road since topping Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., in 2013.
Over the next past weeks, No. 7 Baylor softball has debuted its relatively young bullpen in nine games, including games at Getterman Stadium and in the NSU Demon Invitational in Natchitoches, La., showing off a plethora of both experienced pitchers and newcomers on the pitching mound.
The No. 10 Baylor Bears used a strong pitching effort from junior Heather Stearns and an exciting second inning to put away Stephen F. Austin 3-0 in the championship game of the 2015 Fairfield Inn & Suites North Getterman Classic on Sunday afternoon.
OKLAHOMA CITY – All day long, Baylor struggled in a way it had not struggled in years. Softball had not been run-ruled since the last game of the 2013 season. It had not lost a game by double-digits since this date three years ago.
