“Before this year, LASH tended to focus more on diversity within us — Hispanics, ourselves — that was our main focus,” Robles said. “It wasn’t until this year when we added the DEI chair that we were able to start taking a different route.”

Waco’s Owens-Illinois glass plant plans to stop production on Oct. 16 and will ultimately close its doors in December. It has not been announced what will be done about the employees of the facility.
“What we’re trying to do is figure out how we can, as a faculty and staff, come together and bring our culture into our workspace so that students can see our culture too and feel seen,” Diaz-Espinoza said.
While I agree, tipping culture is necessary in some circumstances, we shouldn’t become accustomed to tipping for services that don’t go the extra mile, such as simply completing a fast-food order or pouring a drink.
No matter the job, everyone should be able to put food on the table and pay rent. It’s a matter of dignity and humanity.
The university has hired former Baylor Alumni Association employees to manage previous BAA programs that are now a part of the Baylor Alumni Network.
Former BAA employees Jan Dodd, Bob Anne Senter and Tessa Jamerson are now employed by the university, said Tommye Lou Davis, Baylor vice president for constituent engagement.
The animals at the Humane Society of Central Texas won’t be the only ones affected by the change in management.
