America’s youths need strong leaders. Sometimes just one decision can change a child’s life from heading in a good direction to a disastrous one. America’s young people face problems like dropping out of school, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, STDs, crime, hunger, violence, cyberbullying, eating disorders and steroid use. Thankfully, the U.S. has outstanding parents, teachers, guidance councilers, school administrators, coaches, youth pastors, role models and other mentors to help its youth.

The fat acceptance movement, also known as size acceptance, fat liberalism or the fat power movement, seeks to remove any sort of stigma associated with plus-sized people, and some have gone as far as to seek change to rules or regulations that they believe exhibits anti-fat bias.
The NCAA Board of Directors has a big decision ahead of it that could forever change the lives of student-athletes. Current rules require schools to provide three meals per day to scholarship athletes. The rules also allow for schools to give athletes snacks as well.
The city of Waco is pursuing legal action to force the improvement of three publicly unsafe buildings on 17th and 18th streets. The three buildings have been deemed unsafe for years, one dating back to 2007.

I would like to thank the editors of the Lariat for publishing on Sept. 27 an editorial on public breast-feeding, because they have drawn attention to an issue that is of profound cultural significance, and have had the courage to hold a position on it that is so manifestly unchristian.
